Grand Canyon National Park was given its National Park status in 1919. This World Heritage Site spans over 1,218,375 acres on the Colorado Plateau in northwestern Arizona. One of the most studied geologic landscapes in the world, the canyon features forests at high elevations, while the lower elevations are comprised of many desert basins. RV campers visiting the Grand Canyon can enjoy many outdoor activities, including hiking, mule trips, horseback riding, river trips on the Colorado River, whitewater rafting, as well as many ranger-led programs. Most visitors come to the South Rim, with Grand Canyon Village as the center of activity. You can also take in the amazing views from the Yavapai Observation Station just one mile east of the Village. You can also visit the Desert View Watchtower, constructed in 1932 as a replica of a prehistoric Indian tower, and providing more incredible Grand Canyon views. For a more quiet, yet still amazing RV camping stay, you can choose to visit the North Rim, with attractions such as Bright Angel Point, Point Imperial, and Cape Royal. Arizona RV Dealers agree that the Grand Canyon is one of the great Arizona RV Parks you must visit. Search out other great RV Parks by State here.
Campgrounds inside Grand Canyon National Park are located at the South Rim and the North Rim areas.
