The Viper is Nexus RV's Class B+ gas motorhome, built on the Ford E-350 chassis with the 7.3L V-8 gas engine. It's a hybrid platform. Narrower, shorter, and lower than a typical Class C, but with slide-outs, added storage, and a cab-over entertainment center that push it past a typical Class B camper van. The Viper is aimed at buyers cross-shopping a Class B camper van against a compact Class C. They want the easier driving and parking footprint of a smaller coach without giving up the slide-out and storage advantages of a Class C body.
Chassis and Cab
The Viper rides on the Ford E-350 chassis with the 7.3L V-8 gas engine and a 55-gallon fuel tank. The cab adds power locks and windows, cup holders, an emergency start switch, an ignition crossover switch, soft-touch driver and passenger seats, wheel inserts and valve extenders, and a 7-inch touchscreen with phone mirroring as standard equipment.
Composite Steel Construction
Every Viper uses Nexus's Composite Steel construction. A high-strength low-alloy steel cage runs throughout the coach, paired with one-piece gelcoat fiberglass sidewalls, a composite substrate (in place of wood), a laminated steel-framed floor, a fiberglass front cap with columns, fiberglass running boards, and a one-piece wraparound fiberglass roof. Nexus rates this approach up to 72% stronger than traditional aluminum-framed RV construction, with corresponding benefits in long-term water damage resistance, thermal and sound insulation, and structural rigidity.
Exterior, Paint, and Storage
Exterior features include frameless tinted windows with automotive seal, deluxe 4-color full-body paint, slide-out toppers throughout, lighted rubber-lined galvanized trunk boxes, an outside shower, the Winegard 360 antenna, and 14.5 cubic feet of exterior storage. Five exterior color options are offered: Standard, Skirt Paint, Electric Blue, Prosecco, and Metallic Rose. Full-body paint upgrades are available on the Electric Blue, Prosecco, and Metallic Rose options.
Interior, Galley, and Bedroom
The interior runs upgraded flooring, high-intensity LED lighting, upgraded window treatments with night roller shades, black pull handles and fixtures, a booth dinette, and a cab-over entertainment center with a 40-inch TV. Four interior décor packages are offered: Bourbon, Adventure, Coastal, and Modern. The galley pairs laminated countertops with a stainless steel undermount sink and a residential faucet with sprayer. The master bedroom carries a 60-by-74-inch hinged mattress (lifts for under-bed storage access) with a deluxe innerspring mattress on top.
